Christmas Music 24/7

Postby John Nada on Mon Nov 02, 2009 10:11 am

Get your fix for holiday music early this year as the former Z-Rock 94.5 is now all Christmas music all the time. Not sure how long this will last...

One of the rumors floating around is that it will be an FM talk station after the first of the year.
Maybe Bristol Broadcasting will offer Jerry a job......with little or no pay, of course. :)

I'm all for Jerry.

FM Talk would be an odd format in this area. Technically, of course, any talk station on FM is FM Talk, but as a format "FM Talk" generally means talk radio aimed at a non-political and younger demographic with talkers about pop culture and such. Also called "Hot Talk" or "Shock Talk". I don't know that would work in Charleston.

Obviously, however, Bristol is doing something new with the channel. You do not take down music for over two months and then try to come back to the same format. My guess will be country oldies (country music of the 40s-70s).

Anything would be an improvement over Rick Johnson and Michael Agnello, and Rush. Talk radio needs more diversity and interesting hosts. The scratchiness of AM signals limits my listening time. Many other markets, including Huntington, have FM talk. Charleston needs to upgrade.

Pathetic. Couldn't they at least wait till mid-December?
Jerry, anyone who becomes an atheist over Christmas music on the radio is beyond stupid.
