I cannot believe that WCHS ran this story. I certainly hope that the CAPs mentioned all-but-by name in this story were notified before the story was read on-air which is where I originally heard it.
Also - why are they cutting the Curriculum APs???? They are necessary in order to help coordinate all the new stuff coming down from the state that seems to arrive on a daily basis all of which is designed to bolster test scores.
I heard last week that any more cuts to my school will probably have to be sucked up by the history teachers. They have cut all the related arts teachers they possibly can and now are down to the core curriculum teachers to cut. What is wrong with this county?

Job Cuts Coming to Kanawha County?
(Charleston) According to Kanawha County Board of Education member Pete Thaw, Superintendent Dr. Ron Duerring has asked the board to consider cutting four vice-principal jobs.
"He's going to ask us to cut four assistant vice-principals, four curriculum vice-principals at four middle schools,” Thaw says. "Those four middle schools are John Adams, Andrew Jackson, Stonewall Jackson, and Elkview."
Although no official word on the cuts has come from Duerring's desk, Thaw anticipates official word will come around the time the board takes up the next budget.
"I imagine this will manifest itself. It'll either show up in a budget meeting or he'll make some proposal at some board meeting prior to the adoption of the budget."
If the cuts do come, Thaw says he will definitely support them. However, he wants them to go further.
"I think we should cut all the schools. If we're going to cut the four middle schools, we should also cut the high schools as well."
Thaw says those four schools were chosen because they're the largest middle schools in the county. Currently, the schools have two vice-principals on staff. One to oversee the curriculum of the school and the other is in charge of disciplinary matters.
