My name is J.J. I am a conservative and live in western Kanawha County on the Putnam County border. I work in the emergency services field and truely enjoy helping others. I feel every persons opinion is important, however, just because our opinions don't always match, this does not mean we cannot agree to disagree and then shake hands like gentlemen (or ladies).

I believe in God, Our Father;
I believe families no longer spend the time together they should;
I believe you should provide the same number of hours work for same number of hours pay, every day;
I believe you should give to those who need and care for your brothers and sisters...
I could go on but hopefully you understand a little about who I am and why I will make certain comments/posts while here.

Independent. Been in Nitro for about 1 year now.

I have been on here for a few months. Changed e-mail and needed to introduce my-self. I am the Fire Chief for the City of South Charleston. Lived in the Kanawha Valley my entire life.

I'm brand spanking new to the board, and understand I can be removed at any time.

I grew up in WV, graduated South Charleston High in '86 and now live in the Dallas, TX area. My mother resides in St. Albans and I have several family and friends scattered throughout the Kanawha Valley.

As I've aged, I've found myself becoming more and more conservative. I used to be a staunch Democrat until John Kerry came along, who I voted for until I decided to vote against him.

My mother sent me this link to cure my frequent bouts of homesickness, http://www.mywvhome.com/index.html , and it led me to these forums. Never one to shy away from discussion about home, I joined.

I was raised in Nitro but now live in Winfield. I am interested and have followed the Nitro saga and just wanted to be apart and add some of my own comments.
