NEW School prayer

Postby Jerry on Wed Dec 05, 2007 1:42 pm

This has been going around for 10 years in one form or another....

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

Amen

Kids have enough to worry about in school, religion doesn't need to be another one.
Anyone that wants religion forced in the kids faces at school, needs to start worrying about there learning first. The Godless Chinese kids are ten times smarter then our fat kids.

I'd much rather have the Federal Government having a say in what belongs in school than some religion. Because at least you have *somewhat* of a representative body with the government... whereas you have (i guess) ONE religion (betcha it's Christianity or some subsect of it) that gets to have a say in our education. I don't think so.
Goes in line with the morons who want to put Intelligent Design up against Evolution in school. As if they are even in the same league. The problem arises when you have these morons who deny the study of evolution and as a result want to dumb down our schools. All the while we have scientists studying current evolution of bacteria and viruses that are *cough* EVOLVING every day, and we need to understand this SCIENTIFIC PROCESS because it helps the public health of our society. No...lets study the magic man in the sky instead, or at least put as much weight in that as the study of evolution. Religion is for fools.

No dmb you are wrong about Intelligent Design. that has been expelled from school as i learned from this movie i just saw. it stars the guy who was the teacher on the movie with the guy who is married to the woman whos in that sinful tv show about 4 woman who have sex alot. my lady used to watch that show but i had to put my foot down when i had to block that channel. but now she gets to see Desperate Housewives that is less sinful i think.

anyway this movie with that guy said that Intelligent Design is based on solid science and they are throwing it out because it is showing how the evloutionism religion is wrong on like alot of stuff. and the evolutionismists are really against science not like the Intelligent Design proponents. but the schools are hiding good science.

I have to say i am upset what you said there at the end. we are not fools i bet i have more education than you. that is because Christians work harder than the liberals that spend all there time protesting and getting welfare to buy TVs and sipping on lattes.

fycd, please do not start being judgemental again, it does not become you.
Prayer belongs wherever people wish to pray and can be loud or silent. No one has the right to insist on it or demand it, nor to forbid it. If the kids want to pray, give them a time to do so...QUIETLY and in such a way that those who do not wish to are not offended. It should NOT be taught in schools, but allowance is not teaching.
