A national organization, with a local South Charleston chapter, that is widely known as Alcohol Anonymous , that has been having meetings once a week for at least (15) years at city hall building, has been told to find themselves another meeting place by mayor Frank Mullins.
Mayor Mullins explained to this AA groups representive that he needed the space for some type of new "unexplained" city project . And he had changed the night shift maintenance crew to a day shift only. Wants nobody in city hall building after certain hours, except his"closest"staff members..
The AA members of the South Charleston chapter were very upset with this decision made by mayor Mullins. They pleaded with mayor Mullins and also city manager Carllton Lee to reverse this decision because several of these AA members did not drive their automobiles anymore, but used the bus lines to get to these AA meetings.
Several of these AA members are citizens of South Charleston and called their city councilperson representative for help, but this did not happen. The city councilpersons told the AA members that mayor Mullins had made up his mind to not let the AA organization to meet at city hall anymore, and there was no changeing his mind.
I am not a member of this AA but I was asked by a member of this local AA chapter my opinion on why mayor Mullins would do this. I told him in my personal opinion to keep a record from the day that mayor Mullins made this decision to throw this organization out of city hall and then go to the local newsmedias or any state department such as Human Rights etc and see if they will hear their case and pleas.
Also, mayor Mullins may be needing this space at city hall for his "latest" appointee retired South Charleston city fireman. T.H. Cobb..
