STINKING ROTTEN ETHICS COMMISSION PART TWO!

Postby Jerry on Mon Nov 26, 2007 6:14 pm

You may remember the post I made a couple of weeks ago about how impotent and rotten the so called WV State Ethics Commission is.

I made the claim that the Ethics Commission leaked information in a complaint against a Nitro city official by Karen Fritz. THEN, some Pro Nitro people claimed that Rusty marks was the one that leaked the information concerning witnesses names in the complaint. This Pro Nitro person kept telling me to 'TALK TO RUSTY MARKS AT THE GAZETTE!!.. TALK TO RUSTY! HE'LL TELL YOU THAT HE TOLD THE ENTIRE STORY TO THE OFFICIAL!"

Well... ONCE AGAIN we have ANOTHER Pro Nitro poster talking out of their a$$ and starting trouble because they have NO CLUE what the TRUTH is. And THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I REMOVED THESE PEOPLE FROM THE MESSAGE BOARD! If you don't know for a FACT... if you cant back it up... then shut the hell up!

Now... HERE'S THE DEAL ON THE NO GOOD ROTTEN ETHICS COMMISSION:

The Nitro official DID IN FACT GET ALL OF HIS INFORMATION FROM THE ETHICS COMMISSION! How did he manage that you say? Here's how: The NO GOOD ROTTEN ETHICS COMMISSION GIVES ANY AND ALL INFORMATION IN A COMPLAINT, TO THE PERSON IN THE COMPLAINT! NOT ONLY THAT... BUT ANY WITNESSES MENTIONED IN THE COMPLAINT IS ALSO GIVEN TO THE ACCUSED!

THINK ABOUT THAT! You have a complaint against some public official, and you provide a list of witnesses. The no good rotten Ethics Commission then hands all that information over to the accused... where he or she COULD (and most likely WILL in WV) then use that information to INTIMIDATE THE WITNESSES! Is it ANY wonder that few people in this state file ANYTHING with the Ethics Commission?? Why are they even there at all? They could actually get people KILLED operating like that! And you want to know WHY they operate like that? Because according to the leadership at the Ethics Commission... THAT'S THE WAY THEY INTERPRET THE LAW AS SET FORTH BY THE LEGISLATURE! It's no wonder that corruption in southern WV is STILL like a Third World Country, little different from many Mid-East countries! In my opinion, it's one thing to allow the accused to know his accuser... but to give him any list of witnesses is INSANE!

GOD HELP US! JUST WHEN YOU DIDN'T THINK IT COULD GET ANY WORSE... NOW WE HAVE JUST ANOTHER MEANS TO KEEP CORRUPTION GOING IN THIS STATE!

Jerry...I agree with everything you've mentioned above...but how does one defend themselves if they cannot question the witnesses against them?

I don't know what the answer is......but mafia witnesses at least get put in witness protection. :?

I tend to agree with Ape..if someone levels an accusation against me I think I would want to know who did it. On the other hand I would not intimidate them...it is a toughy.

Again... you SHOULD know your accuser, but do you have to know the witnesses also? Why? Cant you simply take it up with the accuser as far as why they filed the complaint? After all... right there you have the accuser and you have the charge. You don't need to know anything else! Let the lawyers (if it goes that far) handle the full discloser's as to any witness involvement. Let's face it, the accused would be less likely to intimidate several people than just one. (except in Southern WV of course... where they'll intimidate the entire county if they have to).

I simply see no reason to bring witnesses into the mix, right out of the gate. I mean hell... if this is the law, then the witnesses should EACH file a separate complaint instead of just being witnesses. That in itself would probably carry more weight.

The ethics commission is a JOKE!

They let Jack Jordan work for $$$ while ALREADY ON SALARY!

And that's just a Nitro example!
