Old Time Sayings

Postby Dmbro on Fri Apr 24, 2009 11:31 pm

I love to hear old time sayings which my grandparents used and I have long since forgotten. Rick Johnson said this one on the radio the other day and it's the first time in many years I'd heard it......."Crow is better if eaten while it's still warm" I'd like to hear some from you all.

Have you ever heard this one....wearing some stink pretty?

One of my all time favorites, used in carpentry when something isn't quite square or in the kitchen when dinner isn't quite ready, when asked if something fits right or is ready to eat the response is: "Purt near but not plumb."
