Pitty those Poor Shredders

Postby ibposing on Sun Oct 25, 2009 11:49 am

Those poor shredders have been operated day and night for months as the U.S. House oversight committee dithered over investigating (I am a better thief than my daddy) Dodd and other influential Democrats. If any records survived, the shredders are still operational.

U.S. House Committee To Subpoena Countrywide Records

After months of partisan bickering, the chairman of the influential U.S. House oversight committee Friday said he will subpoena Countrywide Financial Corp. for records that could show whether the company gave favorable loan terms to government financial policymakers.

One of those who obtained refinancing under what has become known as Countrywide's VIP program was Senate banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd. Dodd insists he received no preferential treatment on two loans and he said that a U.S. Senate investigation concluded the loans didn't violate ethics rules.

The lost Countrywide phone tapes

Someone's dog ate them?

But Monday's Wall Street Journal report about Countrywide Financial Corp., which refinanced mortgages for Dodd in 2003, threatens to put the brakes on his comeback by reinvigorating the issue that got him in trouble to begin with.

According to the Journal's account (subscription req'd.),Countrywide recorded phone conversations with borrowers in the controversial mortgage program that included public officials, but those recordings have been destroyed.

I am utterly amazed, aren't you?

From the lowest paid worker at Countrywide to Dodd and his cronies, these activities are rotten and stink to high heaven, BUT nothing will be done. Our masters are in agreement on this!
