Ok... who's the only one here that didn't suspect a Muslim as the shooter down in Texas when you first heard the story?

Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base in a murderous rampage that officials believe was carried out by an Army officer.

The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, told Fox News that military sources informed her that the gunman was about to be deployed to Iraq.

The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.

Hasan allegedly opened fire and killed 11 people on the base before he was shot, bringing the total number of fatalities to 12.

Fox is now interviewing a former collegue of this nut who was present when the nut made multiple statements against American interests. Typical terrorist stuff.

Another report earlier today said that this clown was a convert to Islam. If that is true, perhaps he was just a zealot, like so many converts.

My first question was: wonder how much Code Pink paid this loon...

Just now a cousin was interviewed, with the same last name, who said that this terrorist has always been Muslim, but was born and raised in northern Virginia.

Being a Muslim may or may not have a bearing on this case. (but I think it will.. big time)

None the less, he was obviously another psychiatrist nut case that had serious issues. I was talking to a doctor friend of mine a few minutes ago and she told me that people in that profession (psychiatry) had a propensity for suicide or lashing out towards others. She said that people interested in the subject of psychiatry often have a very "personal" reason for becoming one themselves. In other words, they're trying to discover themselves why they're nuts.

It could be a combination of both of the above issues, but I'm still going for the first one.

I wonder what lawyer will be the first to make "violating his civil rights" an issue to protect this a------. You know it will happen.

My first thought was a soldier with multiple deployments and little support at home just being told he has to go back to the Great Sand Box who just snapped.

I never thought it might be a doctor who would cause this type of mayhem and grief.

Islam declared war on the United States many years ago. We have yet to return the favor.

I dont see a terrorist under every rock, but when I hear of ANY UNUSUAL disturbance in the country, I think Muslim. I think too many people are way too complacent in this day and age...

I was just curious if the military will impose the death penalty for this Major Malik Nadal Hasan since it involved all military personel on a military reservation. And the military will conduct the trial . Its perfectly clear he is guilty of these murders at Fort Hood Texas.

Will it be considered a time of war ( carry the death penalty only in time of war.) ???? The military soliders at Fort Hood was getting prepared to go to war was'n't they ? Or does this mean in a combative war when on a mission ?

But the state of Texas executes 20th inmate this year 2009. Maybe this will have a impact on this case at Fort Hood, Texas..

Not really very complicated. It doesn't matter if the Muslim extremist was a psychiatrist or a pot scrubber. He should have been sent to Levenworth the first time he spoke out about the mission, made sidicious statements and started playing games about deploying. He certainly should have been disciplined the first time he was caught prosthetising to injured combat troops at Walter Reed.

Let's see - his history included taking off to pray multiple times each day, he would NOT allow women in his presence (gee, could that possibly be an issue in a hospital setting, military or otherwise?), and then he complained that he was being harassed for not doing anything to act like he wanted to be in the military?

There is much, much more to this clown's story. What baffles me is why he was still in a position to cause any harm, including psychological, to our military troopers. His associations, his history, his job performance, his insistence on having the Army conform to his wishes, all indicate that he should have been put out long ago.

Now, who were the other shooters?
