Random Observations...
Here are a few random observations for the last month:
1... Today I went Produce shopping at Kroger. It's almost July and the vegetables looked like they came from some 3rd world country in the middle of a famine. The onions were almost rotten, the tomatoes (even Gritts) were baseball hard, and the bananas were SO green that it will take them a week to ripen. The rest of the Produce was almost as bad... and for top dollar. Compare that with Estonia 3 weeks ago where I found the freshest of vegetables, nice and ripe, and a selection that would put us to shame. What's wrong with this damned country?
2... As I was going through Customs in Sweden three weeks ago, I couldnt help but to notice that the two Customs officials were not Swedish at all. As a matter of fact.... one, a woman, was a wrapped-up Muslim. The other was an Asian. How odd that seemed. Then I talked to a Black girl who was Swedish. (Adopted by Swedes). Again.. odd.
3...Obama: I'm beginning to form thoughts about him that may seem off the wall, but bear with me:
No matter what they say about him not being involved with Islam, I think he has a very soft spot in his heart for that religion to the detriment of this nation. I think he will use it against us. Obama, being Black, also has the ability to "get even" as many Blacks would love to do. I have met more Blacks with chips on their shoulders than not. What better way to "get Whitey" than to bring down the country. He has NO idea what fiscal responsibility means, and far too often this reflects on his Race also. I'm afraid that we're in even bigger trouble than I thought 6 months ago.
4... FestiVall was uninspiring this year. There needs to be some changes. Start with dumping that Indian Sitar player on Capitol Street after 15 minutes. She plays FAR too long and the (music?) all sounds the same. Get a banjo player for God sakes... anything. Second...get people to start on time.
5...After the State, and then County raised our Property Taxes 1 1/2 years ago due to the FALSE information they received from a national company... they still refuse to refund that money and go back to the lower rate after all this housing decline. God I hate this place....
